ShopEG Platform Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Sparketernal Technologies Pvt Ltd ("ShopEG," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the ShopEG platform including the consumer-facing store app, merchant dashboard, delivery agent app, and all related services (collectively, the "Platform").

The Platform is intended for use by individuals aged 18 years and above. We recognise that in household contexts, younger individuals may assist adults in placing grocery orders. In such cases, the adult account holder is responsible for supervising and authorising use of the Platform.

We do not use your personal data for targeted advertising, and we do not sell your data to any third party.

4. Push Notifications

We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) by Google to send order-related push notifications to consumers and delivery agents. These notifications include order confirmations, status updates, and delivery alerts.

You may disable push notifications at any time through your device settings. Note that disabling notifications may affect your ability to receive real-time order updates.

5. Data Sharing

5.1 With Merchants

When a consumer places an order through a ShopEG-powered store, their name, phone number, delivery address, and order details are shared with the respective Merchant. The Merchant uses this information solely to fulfil and manage the order.

Merchants are independent data controllers for the Customer Data shared with them and are responsible for handling it in accordance with applicable Indian data protection laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act).

5.2 With Delivery Agents

Delivery agents assigned to an order receive the consumer's name, phone number, delivery address, and order summary for the purpose of completing the delivery.

5.3 With Third-Party Service Providers

All third-party providers are required to handle data securely and are prohibited from using it for their own marketing or commercial purposes.

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law, court order, or government authority, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of ShopEG, its users, or the public.

5.5 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or part of ShopEG's business, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify affected users prior to any such transfer and before data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a period of 5 years after account closure or your last interaction with the Platform. This period is subject to review and may be updated with prior notice.

When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it securely.

We implement reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. These include:

9. Location Data

Delivery agents: Real-time GPS location is tracked only during active delivery assignments. Location tracking stops once the agent logs out, or when the store is closed.

Consumers: Customer location may be requested when placing an order to confirm the delivery address and serviceability. We do not continuously track consumer location.

Location data is not shared with any third party beyond what is necessary to fulfil the delivery.

11. Children's Privacy

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 18 as account holders. If you believe a minor has provided personal data to us without appropriate supervision, please contact us at support@shopeg.in and we will take prompt action to review and delete such data.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will notify you via email or an in-Platform notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
